My Useless Generator

Happy New Year, famm!

I wish you a beautiful year.

Today, I want to tell you a story. A real life story o. Enjoy!

In my house, we’ve not had a generator in the last three years.
I’ll tell you why.

Our former generator stopped working just before we left where we used to live. We moved to an industrial area and we always had power supply.

We would have uninterrupted power supply for days and weeks. Very sweet something! Sometimes when power is ceased, it would always be restored in about 5 minutes. That’s how nice it was.

So, we didn’t see a need to buy a new generator.

‘What’s the point?’

Until recently. Electricity supply became really unstable. It started to get faulty, every week.

If it’s not the transformer, it’s another thing.

It has gotten really really bad.

So, about a month ago, we accompanied my dad to a Thermocool store and bought a generator.

We were all so excited!

‘Yay! We have a generator now’

But then, it has been a month, the generator is still in its box.

Is electricity now good? No! It’s still bad.

We can’t use the generator yet because some wire connections need to be done in the apartment and for some weird reasons, it has not been done.

For days, when there is no power supply, we don’t get to charge our phones(sometimes, we charge at our neighbour’s), food items get bad in the refrigerator(of course, we try to save some), water stops running, and everybody in the house is cranky.

Yet we have a brand new generator!

I said that to say this:

It’s not enough to have!

Are we putting it to use?

Is it serving its purpose?

We have talents.

We have gifts.

We have skills.

What are we doing with them?

It’s the beginning of a new year, we might as well begin to hone our skills, develop our gifts, make more researches, reach out to people, ask questions (after visiting Google, though😂).

Just do something with what we’ve got.

God has placed in us those talents and gifts because there is something we have to offer to the world with them.

We are blessed to be blessings to others. Imagine being in a room and being able to proffer a solution to a problem.

You cannot afford to have a brand new generator in you and not be able to power the house.

In His house, He needs you to use the gifts He has embedded in you to bless people, to reach out to lost souls, to bring them home.

It’s time to start unboxing.

Please, choose to be a blessing.

✌🏽
